Toledo
Toledo is known as the city of Three Cultures thanks to the coexistence between Christians, Jews and Muslims. In this World Heritage city you will find art, history, culture, gastronomy and crafts.

Route of the castles
Toledo is located in the area of ancient Castile and, for this reason, a large number of castles and fortifications have been preserved throughout the province. Most of the time we will find these castles located on the top of the hills, as they were considered to be pure fortifications dominating the surrounding plains.
In turn, as time went by, in addition to being seen as defensive architecture, they began to be considered palatial dwellings.

Barracas de Burujón
Visit a supernatural landscape, which they call “the Grand Canyon Manchego” and whose history goes back twenty-five million years. You will find a landscape full of clay ravines born by wind erosion and bathed by the Castrejón Reservoir.
Declared a Natural Monument in 2010, it also contains the title of Special Protection Area for Birds and Place of Community Interest. Thanks to this, threatened birds such as the peregrine falcon, the Iberian imperial eagle or the eagle owl find their resting place.
- Ecological Trail of the Barrancas: small hiking route that surrounds the different viewpoints in the area. The Mirador del Cambrón stands out, where you can see the plains of La Mancha along with this very different natural space.
Toledo Trails
If what you like and are interested in is getting to know the most natural areas of the province, Toledo has several trail routes to enjoy and walk through its interior.
- Route of the three towns: Huecas, Rielves and Barcience. Simple route, without major slopes where you can visit the Medieval Castle of Barcience as well as settlement sites from the late Neolithic.
- Route of the Visigothic past: of great historical interest due to the examples of Visigothic architecture that you will find along the way, you will visit the foothills of the Montes de Toledo.
- Orgaz Landmarks Trail: do this path on horseback to observe the contrast between the meadows and the pine forest, between the crops and the Mediterranean mountains. Also discover the site of Los Hitos, from the Visigoth kingdom of Toledo.
- Trail of the Cabañas fountains: located on the edge of an excavated depression, springs gush from the valley.
- Sendero del Lazarillo: easy route, without large unevenness. You will cross the border line with Madrid, in addition to crossing the Labros and Tabalón streams.
